HOTELS UK
I stayed in these hotels in the UK and here are my personal reviews for the listed hotels of
  • Horwood House and Leisure Club near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire UK
  • The Rudloe Hall Hotel Corsham Wiltshire very near Bath in Somerset
  • Gryms Dyke Hotel Harrow Middlesex
  • Village Watford Elstree Hertfordshire Hotel UK
  • Theobalds Park hotel Cheshunt Hertfordshire
HORWOOD HOUSE MILTON KEYNES BUCKINGHAMSHIRE UK

The first hotel we stayed in was Horwood House and Leisure Club near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire UK

I had read some very bad reviews for this UK Hotel, howevers they all proved to be entirely wrong in my own opinion!

I would highly recommend this UK Hotel
So now it was off to Theobalds Park hotel Cheshunt Hertfordshire

We arrived at the end of a Dr Who convention! see photos here!

I cannot fault this hotel. We chose to stay in the former stable block which consists of two rows of ex stables, now luxuriously converted into en-suite hotel rooms, set around a courtyard with wood tables and chairs.

This stable block is situated a very short stroll away from the hotel and offers peace seclusion privacy and a really enjoyable stay!

Inside the main hotel, was a coffee machine for on tap caffeine too!

Then we had trouble, all the 3 and 4 star hotels were fully booked!

Ooops!

We had rang the Village hotel in Elstree Hertfordshire and they told us they were fully booked, so we looked up again on the internet for any last minute bookings and one room at the Village was up for grabs!

So we grabbed the opportunity and booked the Village!

It was not our intention to stay in such a new hotel, we wished to stay in country stately homes, howevers the Village hotel really suprised me.

It was heaving with people, a really successful hotel, yet remained very friendly and the bedroom and shower were superb, howevers if you want a bath, this room didn't have a bath, also you couldn't shower easily without washing your hair as the shower head is fixed to the ceiling of the shower!
Gryms Dyke Hotel Harrow Middlesex

Now we had booked this hotel for 3 nights to enjoy some relaxation on this whirlwind tour of the UK!

Bad choice!

From the photos and the brochures and the online website, it looks more than simply sumptuous. However this was a disasterous choice from the moment we drove to the reception entrance

This UK hotel claimed that the block of rooms beside the hotel has been recently renovated and upgraded.

Well it was like being in a time warp. The room was dirty and unhoovered, the bathroom taps and bath really had seen better days and once enjoyed less scum around the taps and bath that for sure I wouldn't have wished to bathe in.

We were shown two other rooms in this block, equally bad, then we were shown one of the rooms inside the once stately home itself. It was double the price of the block rooms and really not worth consideration. So we left immediately to search for a more decent hotel for the three nights.
Then it was a little jaunt over to Wiltshire. The UK Hotel picked there was in Corsham Wiltshire very near Bath in Somerset

The Rudloe Hall Hotel with bed and breakfast included and when i say breakfast, it was a glorious beanfeast!

I would highly recommend this UK Hotel howevers I would say it does need to be upgraded to live up to its alledged 4 stars!

At night the hallways are candlelit which makes for quite a wonderfully spooky ancient hotel! Plus it has real wood fires!
The hotels were all pre booked by telephone. However one of the hotels showed photos of the rooms that were extremely misleading.

After quite a discussion with the hotel manager insisting the room had recently been renovated and modernised, he succumed and showed us another room. At double the price and again really low standard, we left the hotel without a room for the night!

All the local 3 and 4 star hotels in the UK were fully booked too! So we checked in to the internet instead, to begin our search for a hotel room for the night at a hotel close enough to where we were situated in Middlesex nearby Hertfordshire.

We were lucky!
